Fiji Police

(This one's for my Dad who is a retired policeman)

We went for a walk today and on the way back ran into these two nice Fijian policemen.  Thought I'd include a photo since it's not everywhere you see policemen wearing dresses.  OK, the "dress" is called a sulu.

Fijian policemen. No, I'm not handcuffed, just holding my shopping bag behind my back so it wouldn't ruin the picture.

OK, I got no problems with the law enforcement skirts except for the bottoms. What's with the ragged edges? Very unprofessional looking. Maybe a soft scalloped edge? Better yet, your basic smooth, flat bottom. Also suggests a stronger, more in-control image, as well as consistency you can trust.

And would you look at the left shoulder blue-foot-booby look! C'mon. You can't project the image of a schizophrenic and be police!! And exactly where do you hide an AK-47 under these garments? Pu-leeeease!

How can you not respect a man in a sulu?

Actually Joanne, when I talked to Port Control and asked about the police they said to look by the terminal. And I said...(oops) "That's right, it is the guys in the white skirts!"
